Catching Crappie In Challenging High Water Levels with PFGFishing and my724outdoors.com!

We set out to Truman Lake for a week of fun and fellowship with the Brushpile Jigs gang! We got into our Airbnb, and headed to the lake, but the recent rains had the water super muddy in the upper Grand. We opted to go downstream to Long Shoal which was much clearer! We time this trip in the spring hoping to coincide with the crappie being up shallow on the banks. Problem was the banks were 12 feet underwater! So for at least the first couple days we had to find fish elsewhere. Thanks to our buddy Lee Sharp with Lee Sharp Crappie Fishing for finding a pattern! We wound up casting to schools of fish that were in about 20 ft of water, moving around the bases of trees. Every now and then they would disappear to the bottom, and then come back up again. The biggest challenge for me was finding my bait with the ‪@thelivescanner4009‬ and pulling it through the balls of fish. My 126sv was defaulted to factory settings for backlighting, and it was hard to see especially with the glare. I improvised and started guesstimating using a countdown to 10 1000, and it worked. The view on the 126sv was corrected that evening by Lee Sharp too. We had a great time with 3 boats out there, and the week had only begun!
