At Wild West City there is something for everyone! Wild West City opened its doors in the spring of 1957 creating an authentic western experience, a true model of Dodge City, Kansas in the 1800’s. Wild West City presents an interactive adventure bringing tales of the wild west to life through historical characters, dramatizations and demonstrations by period craftsmen. Enjoy a getaway to the beautiful, scenic Skylands Region of Sussex County for folks who want to disconnect from the modern world and reawaken the spirit of the American West.

For those with a “hankering for history” we have enough authentic period memorabilia to put most museums to shame. Many of Main Street’s buildings are accurate reproductions and loaded with antiques, not to mention our extensive collection of Native American art and artifacts. You will learn about late 19th-century farming tools, period dressmaking, blacksmithing and more. But watch out, if you break the law, you may end up in one of our circa-1890 jail cells.
