In celebration of Earth Day, the staff from the Florida Keys-based Turtle Hospital released two rehabilitated juvenile green sea turtles back to their ocean home April 22, 2024 from Sombrero Beach in Marathon. Both turtles were treated for fibropapillomatosis, the debilitating tumor-causing viral disease that affects sea turtles around the world. “Sherry” and “Pretty Girl” are now back in good health and swimming free.
