The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s long-time motto of conserving wildlife, serving people can often be defined by what its Habitat and Access Branch does on a yearly basis. Without good habitat, wildlife simply isn’t as abundant in a way Wyomingites have come to expect. While private landowners provide the bulk of habitat for Wyoming’s wildlife, the habitat and access branch of Game and Fish is responsible for managing Wyoming Game and Fish Commission-owned lands, and to manage those lands to be the benchmark for wildlife habitat—while also providing public access.
