“Ida” the sea turtle is back swimming off the Florida Keys. The 200-pound female adult loggerhead sea turtle was released Jan. 20, 2024 into the Atlantic Ocean off Sombrero Beach in Marathon, located in the Middle Keys. Ida was discovered by recreational boaters a few days previously off the Keys entangled in a lobster trap buoy line. After treatment at @TheTurtleHospitalMarathon, she was back in good health and returned to her ocean home. #seaturtles
