Be careful of the hooks you buy on line. Cheap hooks almost ruined my fishing! As you know, I like to use double minnow rigs and my inventory is running low. I set out to tie a bunch of new rigs (they have gotten too expensive to buy pre-made). I have the weights, I have the swivels, only thing missing is the light wire panfish hooks. Easy fix right? Well I look around some tackle shops, some retail outlets, and they are hard to come by retail. So Amazon it is!! Ordered what I wanted and 2 days later I have it in hand. The problem is that these hooks bend like butter!! I have used Eagle Claw light wire panfish hooks in the past with no issue. Seriously I have never had these type hooks bend out so easily. I have never had a 10-12 inch crappie bend out a hook that wasn’t already compromised in some way!! But that is how the day went. I lost multiple fish where the hook practically straightened out on me. This is ridiculous! Long story short when I got home I threw the ones I bought in the trash. Not even worth the effort to send them back. I ended up going and buying the same hook in the gold plating and there has been no issue. Point to the video is be careful what you buy online, especially from the big sellers like Amazon and Temu.
