Catching Crappie DURING The Spawn on Jigs with PFGFishing and my724outdoors.com!
Mid April in Southern Illinois means crappie spawn! I am still trying to figure out a pattern for Crab Orchard Lake, and I may have stumbled upon something today! A Brushpile Jigs Glow Green Dart seemed to be the ticket. Fish were located in lilly pad stems in 1-3 foot of water. I am using a jig and cork setup about a foot deep and bouncing the jig through the stems. This approach works until the vegetation fills up the voids between then stems, then it is nearly impossible to do.
