I am crappie fishing flooded willow trees for crappie. We are crappie fishing below the Wright Patman dam spillway. The water is UP and flowing so that means these crappie will be out of the current as much as possible. Crappie do not like to fight current, so they find structure out of the current so it is easier for them to feed on bait fish. We are crappie fishing with live minnows under a slip cork, this allows you to keep your bait at a certain depth, once you have determined what depth these crappie are at, its game over! We managed 18 keeper crappie and a ton of throw backs, we even some put some slab crappie in the boat.
