Typically, only male deer grow antlers. Female deer have been documented to grow antlers when experiencing issues with regulation of the hormone testosterone, which happens very rarely.

Nature's Calling has info on Missouri's 7 species of Woodpeckers this month! There are 7 species of woodpeckers in Missouri. These species are the Red-bellied Woodpecker, Red-headed Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Pileated Woodpecker.

Did you know, Missouri is one of the "leading lower 48 states for bald eagle viewing" with a surplus of big rivers, lakes and more, MDC said. There are more than 2,000 bald eagles typically spotted in the state during the winter. "Watch for eagles perched in large trees along the water's edge," MDC stated.
