Late summer is the best time to take advantage of the abundance of the unbelievable shrimping and fishing here in the St. Johns River. The shrimp are running to the ocean and everything else that eats them follows this migration. This is the time we catch our stores of wild shrimp and fish. We will enjoy these for a while and hope they will be back even better next year. Learning how, when and where to find the target species requires learning like the old timers did. They HAD to find them to eat. A lot of that knowledge was not passed down or just ignored by the next generations. I will try to share what I have learned from them and pass it along to you with some of my years of learning also.
