Exploring a 100 YEAR OLD LUMBER CAMP with Backwoods Florida Adventures and my724outdoors.com!
We are out exploring the old Cummer Cypress Company lumber camp in the Withlacoochee State Forest in the West Central Florida Wilderness. Florida History has always been an interest of mine. Check out what we found in the woods! They came and cut the giant old growth cypress trees that were thousands of years old from the 1920's to the 1950's. Many of these trees were as big as Redwoods from the Pacific Northwest. There are still a few left in Florida, but not many. Many of the old train roads still exist to this day through the swamps of Central Florida. A good day of exploring in the fall conditions here in Florida.
